Dear Friends of Packsack,
As the year comes to a close and a peaceful winter settles over the Northwoods, we want to take a moment to thank you for being a part of our Packsack family. Whether you paddled your first BWCAW route with us this year, returned for another stay in our cabins, or simply followed along from afar, your support means the world to us.
2025 brought countless sunsets over Fall Lake, loon calls echoing across the water, and stories shared around campfires. It’s our greatest joy to help you experience the Boundary Waters—whether it’s adventure-filled portages, a quiet morning with a cup of coffee on the dock or memories made with family and friends on the water.
As we look ahead to a new season, we’re excited to continue delivering the same warm hospitality and dependable outfitting you’ve come to expect. We’re already gearing up for more canoe-country adventures, fresh improvements around the property, and another summer of helping you explore one of the most beautiful places on Earth.
For those of you planning a trip for the 2026 season, we have some important dates to share. Our 2026 season will run from May 9th through October 3rd. Boundary Waters permits go on sale on Wednesday January 28th at 9:00 am CST. We are also doing a couple of shows this year!
The show dates are:
· Minnesota Sportsman’s Resort, Lodge and Outdoors Show. Shakopee, MN
January 16th-18th
· Chicagoland sports show. Schaumburg, IL
January 22nd-25th
· QCCA Fishing, Hunting, and Outdoor Adventure Show. Rock Island, IL February 12th-15th
We hope to see you at one of the shows!
From our family to yours, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a joyful New Year!!! May your holidays be filled with peace, warmth, and a little Northwoods spirit—until your next trip to Ely.
With gratitude,
Nick, Danielle & Adilee Ott
