Holiday Greetings to all of our Packsack Friends and Family!

We hope this Holiday season finds you enjoying lots of Love and Holiday spirit with Family and Friends, and we also hope you find time to reflect on the memories you made in 2024! As we look back, we find ourselves grateful for you, our customers! We saw many new faces this year, and even more familiar faces.  We talked fishing, camping, wildlife, and shared our love and appreciation for this special area. It humbles us as resort owners and outfitters that we get to become so close to our guests when you are here. We get to share in your adventures and in your lives, we get to experience the highs of your trips, and sometimes the lows in your trips, we get to know you as friends… not just customers.  We very much appreciate those of you who spent time with us this past summer and we look forward to serving you in the future.  Those of you who did not make it, we hope that a Packsack experience is on your short list for 2025!

Our Adilee will be four years old in January.  She enjoyed spending more time around the resort exploring, swimming in the lake, and meeting many of our guests. After the season, we packed up the truck and headed to the Black Hills for a week. We stayed in a cabin in the mountains, and spent our time viewing the attractions like the Badlands, Wall Drug, Mt. Rushmore, and the animals in Custer State Park. The Black Hills are such a special and picturesque part of our country, we appreciated the beauty and vastness of the hills. We also appreciated getting home and spending time quality time in our own backyard.

We again were blessed with some great help this season. Gene as always was there to be our right-hand man; he continues to amaze us and our guests with his hard work and fun-loving stories. We also welcomed back Elizabeth Johnson to our team! Previous to the beginning of the season, Elizabeth ran an Ultramarathon, and climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro! We greatly appreciate both Elizabeth and Gene’s help, and we hope to see them both back next year.

As we reminisce about last season, we anxiously begin to peak ahead at this coming season. We have already heard from many people planning trips for the 2025 season. We are always happy to hear from you, so please don’t hesitate to contact us with questions or requests regarding a trip to Packsack for next season! This year’s permit “go live” date is Wednesday January 29th at 9:00 am. Permits will again be sold on a first come, first serve basis on the Forest Service website: www.recreation.gov. Last year permits sold out for motor use and paddle use for most all entry points for the majority of the summer right away in January. We want you to have the most options for the best entry points for this next season, so please do plan ahead this year so we can get your permit right away. If you are planning a trip this coming summer, please contact us asap to discuss options regarding obtaining your permit. We will have more on the 2025 permit process, soon on our website.
