Holiday Greetings Packsack Friends and Family!

We hope that this letter finds you healthy, happy, and planning for your next Packsack adventure! As you can imagine, the 2020 season started out with a question mark leaving us to wonder if we could even be open and then ended with an exclamation point marking one of the busiest seasons Packsack has ever had. Despite expected and understandable cancelations, Packsack’s cabins were full all season long, and the Boundary Waters saw record numbers of campers filling entry points all summer long. The influx of visitors kept us busy and, on our toes. Rewarding us with many new friends, memories and a constant reminder of why we are in this business. From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to thank all of you who visited us and made 2020 an unforgettable season!

Packsack had a couple of new faces this last season! Besides the always appreciated help from Gene and Jane, our 2020 helpers Joey Rova and Spencer Moser became part of the Packsack family and assisted us with ensuring our guests had the best experiences possible. We appreciate all of the help we received, and look forward to having them at Packsack again in the future.

Also joining the Packsack team this January, will be a special little helper…we would like to announce that we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of baby girl Ott!! The estimated due date is just 3 days before the permit “Go Live” date, so keep your fingers crossed that she makes her debut a couple of days early!

The 2021 permit “Go Live” date is on Wednesday, January 27th at 9:00 am CST and the process, website (www.recreation.gov), etc. will be the same as 2019, and 2020. Please let us know how we can be of assistance with your 2021 permit and planning needs and we will keep you updated right away if the Forest Service makes any last-minute changes.

Due to the birth of our child and Covid-19, the sport show season has changed for 2021. At this time, the International Sportsman’s Expo in Denver CO, the Chicagoland sport show in Schaumburg IL, the Indianapolis IN sportsman’s expo and Canoecopia in Madison WI have all been cancelled.

As of right now we are planning to attend (pending any possible COVID restrictions):

*Red River Valley Sportsmen's Boat, Vacation & Camping Show in Fargo, ND on March 4th-7th

*Eastern Iowa Sports Show at the UNI Dome in Cedar Falls Iowa, March 12th-14th

*Northwest Sports Show in Minneapolis MN, March 25th-28th

We fully understand that most folks will not attend a sports show during a Pandemic, we at Packsack will still offer sport show discounts even if you can’t make it. Please contact us directly for more information.

We hope that your upcoming holidays are safely spent with loving family, friends, and dreams of your next wilderness adventure! Please do take care of yourselves, and the three of us will see you next year!

Cheers,

-Nick & Danielle Ott Packsack Canoe Trips & Log Cabins
