FISHING
The BWCAW offers some of the best fishing anywhere. Just two short portages from Fall Lake via either canoe or boat and motor, takes you to Basswood Lake, renowned for its fishing and the Minnesota State Record Northern Pike.
All lakes in the BWCAW have excellent fishing. Common catches include Walleye, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Crappie, Perch and Lake Trout (on certain lakes).
The BWCAW offers “World Class” Smallmouth fishing and that highly sought after for its great eating Walleye.
Enjoy fishing the many falls and rapids either with artificial or live bait and then enjoy the shore lunch. Eating fresh fish doesn’t get any better than this!
