BWCAW Permits
Permits are required anywhere you travel in the BWCAW. We'll help you through this process when you make reservations with us.
The Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness is part of the National Wilderness Preservation System. To preserve the wilderness, visitors to the BWCAW must follow certain regulations. Click on this link to learn the details:

Permits can be reserved by going to:
http://www.recreation.gov.
The reservation fee for each permit is $12.00. A $32.00 deposit on the User Fee will be applied. The total User fee will be $16.00 per adult and $8.00 per youth.
Permits are required in the Quetico also. Please contact us for information.
We recommend that you secure any permit as soon as you know your dates of travel.
DAY-USE MOTOR PERMITS
PACKSACK Canoe Trips & Log Cabins guests have access to great walleye, northern pike and smallmouth fishing on Fall Lake or, via two short wheel portages, the famed Basswood Lake.
Day-Use Motor Permits are needed to fish in Basswood Lake if you will be fishing that area, entering and exiting on the same day with boat and motor. At $12.00 each, these permits are good for any one day that week.
