BWCAW PERMITS

PACKSACK Canoe Trips & Log Cabins  is a permit issuing station. Allow us to reserve the permit for you. We do not charge a fee for this. Or, if you prefer to reserve your own permit, indicate PACKSACK Canoe Trips & Log Cabins as your Permit Pickup Station.

Permits are required from May 1st through September 30th anywhere you travel in the BWCAW. We’ll help you through this process when you make your reservations with us.

Permits are #12.00 each. At the time the reservation is made you will also be charged a $32.00 User Fee which will be applied to your camping fees when the permit is issued at your arrival.

Permits are required in the Quetico also. Please contact us for information.

We recommend that you allow us to secure any permit as soon as you know your dates of travel.

DAY-USE MOTOR PERMITS

PACKSACK Canoe Trips & Log Cabins guests have access to great walleye, northern pike and smallmouth fishing on Fall Lake or, via two short wheel portages, the famed Basswood Lake.

Day-Use Motor Permits are needed to fish in Basswood Lake if you will be fishing that area, entering and exiting on the same day with boat and motor. At $12.00 each, these permits are good for any one day that week.
